A website for a business in Stephenville, Dublin, or anywhere in Erath County is not competing with a national brand’s homepage. It is competing with a Facebook page that has not been updated since 2022, a directory listing with the wrong hours, and the habit of “just call them, I guess.”
That is a low bar, and most sites still miss it.
The job of the page
Someone already knows they need a table, a roof, a tune-up, or a place to eat. They search, they tap, they decide in under a minute. The site has one job: make the next step obvious.
That usually means:
- Who you are, in the first screen, without a slogan that could belong to anyone.
- What you do, in plain language. Not “solutions.” The actual work.
- Where and how to reach you. Phone that works on a phone. Address if people need to find the door. Hours if they matter.
- Proof. A few real photos, a named project, a sentence from a customer. Not stock kitchens and stock handshakes.
If those four things are clear on a phone, the site is doing its job. Everything else is craft on top of that.
Local search is not a trick
Google does not owe you the map pack. It rewards a site that looks like a real business in a real place: consistent name, city, phone, and pages that talk about the work you actually do here. That is not “SEO theater.” It is making the page true and easy to read.
We build those sites as part of the same workshop as the custom tools: mobile-first, fast, and owned by you. When a brochure is enough, we ship a brochure that earns the call. When the business needs more than a front door, we keep going.
